San Luis Police Department Officer Luis Marquez was awarded the Community Heart of Yuma Award for his outstanding volunteer work which he has contributed to our community.
Officer Luis Marquez has been actively involved in organizing numerous events such as bike safety events to promote helmet safety for young kids, the safety event which draws numerous law enforcement and private sector agencies to come out and promote safety to our youth, numerous blood drives, and clean-up campaigns. He is also highly involved in the Arizona Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run which helps raise funds locally.
The award event was held at the Arizona Western College Schoening Conference Center on the evening of Tuesday, October 25th where many other local community members and organizations were recognized for their outstanding contribution to their communities.
