On Monday night at around 11:30 PM, SLPD canine team was conducting routine patrol in the area of the 500 Block of First Avenue. The police canine alerted to a vehicle that was parked in the area.
Further investigation into the vehicle led the canine team to locate 74 pounds of methamphetamine that were hidden inside the vehicle.
No suspects were identified and the case is currently under investigation.
The estimated street value of the methamphetamine is $260,000.
