The San Luis Police Department is proud to announce that the City of San Luis is once again ranked among the 20 safest cities in the State of Arizona.
The City of San Luis was previously ranked number #7 and continues to hold this ranking. The recent study was conducted by Safewise.
Part of this success is the efforts of the San Luis Police Department to continue with the 21st Century Strategy of policing. The 21st Century Strategy focuses on more police visibility in our communities along with crime suppression and crime mapping to better provide services to the community. The crime rate dropped 13 percent during the past year.
Chief of Police Craig Higgins mentioned “This couldn’t be done without the efforts of the community and the great relationship that the police department has been able to establish in the past few years”.
Mayor Gerardo Sanchez who has been a full supporter of the police added, “Safety has always been a priority and I would like to thank the men and women of our police department for the dedication and professionalism they demonstrate every day, thank you.”
