SLPD Conducts Homicide Investigation

Today at approximately 0617 hours, police officers from the San Luis Police Department responded to Rachel Dodge Court located at the Avenue F residential district in reference to shots fired. When officers arrived, they confronted a male subject that fired gun shots at the officers. One officer returned fire striking the subject, who then took his own life from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A separate deceased person that is believed to have been murdered, was found in a separate location in the same residential district, and is currently under investigation possibly related to this incident. The San Luis Police Department is continuing their investigation involving both related incidents and will provide incident updates as further investigation becomes available.
