On September 23rd, 2019 at about 0812 hours, officers from the San Luis Police Department responded to a shots fired call at the area of Torres Street between Cabello Avenue and Rangel Avenue.
As officers responded to the location, SLPD dispatch received other calls reporting that two subjects, one carrying a rifle, had entered a residence.
When SLPD officers arrived, they noticed bullet casings from a high-powered rifle in front of 1441 Cabello Avenue. Officers left from the residence and contacted the U.S. Border Patrol for assistance. The USBP Bortac Team responded to our location to assist with the situation.
The SLPD, with the assistance of U.S. Border Patrol Bortac Team, apprehended two male subjects that surrendered after they voluntarily came out of 1441 Cabello Avenue.
The two suspects were identified as Carlos Salas and Issac Santiago, both San Luis, Arizona residents. They were both booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center under two counts of felony charges of unlawful discharge of a firearm, misconduct involving weapons, and endangerment.
