San Luis Police Department Awarded Local Border Support Grant

The San Luis Police Department is pleased to announce that it has been awarded $956,478.50 in grant funding from the Arizona Department of Public Safety through the Local Border Support Grant. This funding will significantly enhance the department’s efforts in working together for a safe community.

The funds obtained through the Local Border Support Grant program will be used to replace all Mobile Data Computers (MDCs) assigned to our staff and six (6) of our current fleet vehicles assigned to the Patrol and Investigations Divisions. These funds will help the San Luis PD officers provide a more efficient and effective service to our community enhancing our border security. 

“This funding will allow us to better serve our community by improving our capabilities and resources,” stated San Luis Police Chief, Nigel Reynoso. “We are grateful for the support from the Arizona Department of Public Safety and look forward to utilizing these funds to enhance our operation capabilities through reliability and quick response, with the end goal to better serve our community by keeping our staff and members of the public safe,” he added. 

The police department will continue to actively seek funds, through the various grants available and expand the readiness and service that we provide to our community.
