The SLPD Property and Evidence room is currently staffed by two full-time evidence technicians. This division is responsible for the proper intake, control, storage, release and disposal of all property to include seized evidence, safekeeping, found or abandoned. The division works extremely close with officers, attorneys, and other law enforcement agencies to ensure compliance of all state laws and SLPD policies.
If trying to recover property/evidence, please get in touch with the property and evidence section before coming into the SLPD. Property is released by appointment only. Anyone trying to recover property/evidence will need a case number or property receipt issued by the case officer to claim property. All found/abandoned property requires proof of ownership prior to the claim being approved. All found/abandoned property will be posted and retained for a period of 30 days before disposal.
