SLPD apprehends wanted felon

On August 4, 2021 at approximately 1155pm, San Luis police officers located a male subject identified as Marcos Castro, near the 1300 block of Santa Fe Drive. Marcos was known to have an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest. As officers attempted to make contact with Marcos, he fled on foot while displaying a handgun and pointing it at the officers. Marcos jumped over a wall to try and get away. A perimeter was set by San Luis police officers and agents from the U.S. Border Patrol tactical team. Marcos was later apprehended without further incident. He was later booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center under the following felony charges: Failure to Appear-1st Degree, Possession of weapon by prohibited possessor and Aggravated Assault on Peace Officer X3.
