San Luis PD Arrests Suspect for Resisting Arrest

The San Luis Police Department arrested a male subject Wednesday evening for possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting arrest and for a total of 6 warrants that had been issued for his arrest.

A San Luis Police Officer made contact with 20 year-old Christian Leon at the 1300 Block of     La Madera Drive. The suspect who had 6 warrants for his arrest took off running and a foot pursuit took place. SLPD located the suspect hiding behind a residence and tried to evade officers by running.

The suspect was apprehended after another foot pursuit in which an officer had to use an Electronic Control Device. The suspect was found to be in possession of an electronic scale with some marijuana residue along with several baggies used to package illegal narcotics.

The suspect was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Resisting Arrest and for 6 warrants.
