The San Luis Police Department arrested a male subject Wednesday night who was wanted on felony charges of unlawful flight from law enforcement that took place over the weekend.
SLPD Officers located and arrested 32 year-old Juan Carlos Leon-Osuna at a residence on the 200 Block of Rio Sonora Street. SLPD had been following up on leads on the whereabouts of Leon-Osuna who had fled from officers on Saturday night after officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on him.
Officers had initially responded to a report of a reckless driver in the area of 100 C Street. When SLPD located the vehicle, the suspect vehicle that was being driven by Leon-Osuna refused to stop for patrol units.
Leon-Osuna is a deported felon who was illegally in the United States at the time of this incident.
Leon-Osuna was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on unlawful flight from law enforcement and endangerment.
