On 03-13-2023 at approximately 1042 hours, the San Luis Police Department was contacted by the City of San Luis Parks & Recreation Department, and reported that one of the outside work crew inmates from the Arizona Department of Corrections, had absconded. San Luis Police officers responded and established incident command at the Joe Orduno Park, where the inmate had absconded from. Arizona Department of Corrections, U.S. Border Patrol and the U.S. Marshals Service were contacted and arrived at the area to assist in the search. Contact was later made by the Somerton Police Department and they reported that the missing inmate later identified as Johnathan William Perryman (45 y/o) was seen in Somerton. Further search was conducted by the Somerton Police Department along with other agencies in the Somerton area. The absconded inmate’s whereabouts continue to be unknown.
