The San Luis Police Department arrested a male subject early Tuesday morning after he led officers from various Yuma County Law Enforcement Agencies on a nearly 70 mile vehicle pursuit.
SLPD responded to assist Cocopah Tribal Police along with Border Patrol Agents around 8:15 AM on Tuesday morning. Both agencies were trying to stop a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of the Yuma area.
As the stolen vehicle entered the San Luis City limits, SLPD Officers tried to stop the vehicle from entering city limits. The driver refused to comply and continued to flee on law enforcement.
The vehicle came to a stop around Mile Post 62 and Interstate 8.
The driver and suspect of the vehicle was identified as 20 year old Emmanuel Duenas. The other passenger who was inside the vehicle was not charged and is considered a victim in this case.
Emmanuel was booked into the Yuma County Adult Jail for Unlawful Flight from Law Enforcement, Aggravated Assault on a Police Officer, Kidnapping, Endangerment, Theft of Vehicle, and Possession of Stolen Property.
