Suspect arrested for attempted homicide

On August 21, 2021 at about 0031 hours, San Luis Police officers responded to a residence in San Luis, Arizona for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers noticed a broken window to the residence and heard a female yelling. Officers noticed a male subject inside the residence holding a knife in his hand and a female that had visible knife wounds on her body. The male subject later identified as Marcos Rubio Diaz, who complied with officers’ verbal commands to drop the knife, was subsequently arrested. The female was treated by officers on scene and San Luis Fire Department paramedics, and was later transported to the hospital for further treatment. Marcos was later booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center for charges of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon and Attempted Homicide.
