This San Luis Police Department will be conducting traffic (STEP) and DUI enforcement details from Saturday March 16th to Sunday March 17th for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration. The SLPD officers will provide enhanced traffic and DUI enforcement in support of a grant awarded by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS).
The objective of the traffic enforcement program is to reduce the number of vehicle collisions and the resulting injuries and fatalities through increased highly visible enforcement. Police officers will focus on occupant restraint, impaired driving, speeding enforcement and pedestrian safety. Increased patrol efforts will be focused throughout different areas in the City of San Luis. We remind motorists and passengers it only takes a second or two to fasten a seat belt. A seatbelt could help save your life, don’t test your luck this St. Patrick’s Day. Enjoy the celebrations responsibly.
